Research Veterinary Technologist:

 

A full-time, permanent position is available immediately for a certified veterinary technologist working with mouse models of bleeding disorders. The ideal candidate will have completed a veterinary technology/technician program and hold their RLAT status with the Canadian Association of Laboratory Animal Science. The successful applicant should be experienced with mouse colony maintenance and husbandry, and should have an extensive background in the performance of procedures including retro-orbital blood sampling and tail vein injections. There will also be an expectation to learn new “hemostasis-related” procedures and other minor surgeries. The successful applicant will work as part of a large research group that utilizes mouse models extensively in their exploration of diseases such as hemophilia A and von Willebrand disease.  Salary range will be approximately $50,000 - $55,000 and will reflect the applicant’s background and experience.
