The University of Waterloo Central Animal Facility is seeking candidates for a casual on-call position for weekday shifts during busy periods and staff vacations. The time commitment varies and would complement our current roster. You must be available for mornings usually 3-4 hour shifts. Candidates must have previous experience providing husbandry and care to lab animals, relevant professional training would be an asset. Duties would include checking the health status of our animals, visual cage inspections and daily room status reports, changing cages, cage wash duties and preparing cages and bottles for next day use. Successful candidates will be provided with on-line and hands-on training.The rate of pay is $18-20/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
